Photography. Anyone can do it. But we all do it differently. Cameras are the tools we use, whether it’s a smartphone, digital SLR or mirrorless, a Holga or Diana, Polaroid, medium format, large format, pinhole, etc. And of course it’s film versus digital. I shoot mostly film again. Film cameras and lenses from the 1950’s have earned their own histories and have their own interpretation of the world. Pinhole cameras are unique as well. So part of my vision includes how a certain camera will interpret what I see. The fun is in the surprises I get through the process, resulting from un known variables when taking a photograph: the lens, the film, the composition, the color, the bokeh. It’s serendipity.
